Southern Peanut Growers’ Consumer Recipe Contest is a Win-Win for Peanut Butter Lovers and Hunger Relief Organization Feeding America
“PB my way” contest inspired creative consumer concoctions, sans the sandwich
CANTON, GA – June 9, 2011 – Southern Peanut Growers challenged consumers to lose the loaf in its second annual “PB my way” recipe contest. Peanut butter lovers nationwide were called on to submit inspiring peanut butter entrées and help support the nation’s leading hunger relief organization, Feeding America.
Southern Peanut Growers pledged to match jars of peanut butter for recipe submissions. “We received so many mouthwatering dishes,” says Leslie Wagner, executive director of Southern Peanut Growers, Canton, Ga. “We are thrilled to donate 3,000 jars of peanut butter to Feeding America on behalf of peanut butter lovers everywhere.”
“PB my way” showcased just how versatile peanut butter can be. The contest called for “quick and easy” entrées that take less than an hour to make, include ten or fewer ingredients, and feature peanut butter as a starring ingredient. A one-year supply (one case) of peanut butter was awarded to the top ten finalists. Below are Southern Peanut Growers’ top three picks, also featured on PeanutButterLovers.com:
