Southern Peanut Growers’ “PB My Way” Recipe Contest Celebrates All-Time Favorites
CANTON, Ga. (June 2, 2015) – From classic recipes passed down through generations to new creations that you would never expect to find on grandma’s kitchen table, there’s no shortage of delicious ways to pack peanut butter into diverse dishes. To celebrate our nation’s enduring love for this sticky staple, Southern Peanut Growers today is unveiling winners of its annual “PB My Way” recipe contest showcasing PB lovers’ all-time favorite peanut butter dishes.
“Peanut butter is such a versatile ingredient, and we want to celebrate it in all forms,” said Leslie Wagner, executive director for Southern Peanut Growers. “Whether it’s as a staple in an old family favorite, adding a little nutty flavor to a healthy dish, or paired with sriracha to spice things up, we wanted to seek out and honor the nation’s all-time, most loved PB-powered recipes.”
Wagner says the “all-time favorites” theme in its sixth annual PB My Way contest inspired hundreds of diverse recipe submissions this year that included examples of classics, such as Bundt cakes, popularized in the 1950s and 60s, and holiday brittles. Meanwhile other entries exhibited trendy ingredients in modern dishes, like chia seed in a DIY granola or sriracha and peanut butter paired for complete dinner entrées.
